June 2015 Meeting

Our June meeting will be Saturday the 20th at 2PM. This time, we’ll be at the home of Jon Norris, 112 Oakbeech Ct in Holly Springs. We’re on a cul-de-sac so parking is at a premium, but we’ll manage.

This month, we’ll check out the music of Frank Henninger. We’ll also take a look at the flutes of Kuzin Bruce, who is very well-known for his drones. Then we’ll do another show-and-tell. Please bring your FAVORITE flute and be prepared to tell us a bit about it.

As always, we’ll make lots of music. If you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too. If you’d like to bring a snack to share, feel free to do so.

Also, on Saturday, August 8, 2015, Mark Holland will again grace us with his presence and masterful flute playing, this time with Pati Pellerito, a sound healing expert, bringing gorgeous singing bowls and powerful planetary gongs. The concert will take place at Black Horse Run, a community north of Durham on Hwy 501N. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. For more information, contact Dawn Leith-Dougherty, dawnofanewage@hotmail.com.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any feedback regarding the flute circle. I look forward to seeing you on the 20th.
