Flute Friends,
Our June meeting will be next Saturday the 4th at 2PM. This month, we’ll be at Dawn and Ed Dougherty’s home, 2685 Ridgeville Rd in Prospect Hill, up Highway 86 north of Hillsborough. Their phone number is 919-801-2846 if you get lost or need directions. Ed and Dawn have an elderly lab dog as well as a tiny but spunky cat, in case you have allergies or issues with animals.
We’d like to get back into the habit of having a summer potluck, so if you’re able, please bring a dish or snack to share. Also, Dawn asked for people to bring some percussion instruments if you have them so we can get a little drumming and rhythm going.
As we all know, Covid is still an issue. In order to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible, especially since some of our regular participants are high risk or immunocompromised, we ask that only fully vaccinated, boosted, and symptom-free people attend.
This month, we’ll be featuring a flutemaker and a recording artist. Then we’ll do some facilitated playing activities. As always, if you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too.
In order to make life a little easier for all of us, I went ahead and scheduled out all meetings for 2022. We’re sticking with every other month for now. Here’s the schedule for the rest of the year:
