Starting Meeting Again

Flute Friends,

I hope you’re all doing well. After a little over a year of cancelling meetings in an attempt to keep people safe and healthy, the Covid numbers are going down and vaccination percentages are going up, so we’ve been talking about starting to meet again. While there is still some risk even to vaccinated people, we want to ease back into things slowly and safely. Here’s what we are proposing: for the summer and fall, we will meet every other month starting in June (we’re working on scheduling exact dates). We will meet outside for the safest gathering possible (fingers crossed that weather cooperates), and we ask that only vaccinated people attend. We won’t be sharing snacks (although you can still bring your own snacks) and we certainly won’t be sharing flutes, but hopefully we can all enjoy some time sharing some music again.

Please let me know what you think. If you’re interested in attending an outside, socially distanced meeting, let me know. If you have an outside space with room to spread out and you’re interested in hosting, definitely let me know. If you don’t feel comfortable coming to meetings yet, let me know that too. I’m really trying to get a feel for what everyone wants to do as we’re figuring this out and making plans.

Thanks,
Jon
