December 2017 Meeting

Flute friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Now that you’ve eaten all your leftovers, I wanted to pass along the details for our upcoming December gathering. On Saturday the 9th, from 2 to 6 PM, I’m hosting our 6th Annual Epic Holiday Musical Shindig at my home. We’ll fire up the PA system, break out more instruments than you can count, and create lots of bodacious grooves and tasty jams. No discussion topics. Just music. And door prizes. And plenty of food. It wouldn’t be a proper holiday shindig without food. My family will provide an assortment of snacks and finger foods as well as coffee and tea. If you’d like to bring a treat to share, that’s great, but please don’t feel obligated to do so.

As the format for this meeting will be largely an open mic setup, please bring some instruments and have something in mind that you’d like to play. There are plenty of us who play percussion, strings, or other instruments, so if you’d like some accompaniment, just let me know.

If you’d like to contribute something for the door prizes, that’s would be awesome. In the past, we’ve had enough items that everyone got to take something home, but my own stash of giveaways has dwindled significantly over the last couple years. Old CDs you don’t listen to any more, flute bags, instructional materials, etc. would be great contributions.

We’re located at 112 Oakbeech Ct. in Holly Springs, just south of the Raleigh/Cary area. You should be able to find us on Google Maps or your trusty GPS, but if not, please let me know and I’ll be happy to provide you with directions. We’re on a cul-de-sac so parking is at a premium, but we’ll manage. I look forward to seeing you there.

Just shoot me an email or RSVP to the Facebook event so we can get a headcount and plan accordingly.

Also, just a head’s up that our January meeting will be on the 6th at Ed and Dawn’s new home. Details and new address will come soon. I’m working on dates for 2018 and will be looking for volunteers to host those meetings soon.

Thanks,
Jon
