June 2021 Meeting

Flute Friends,

I hope you’re doing well. In my previous message, I mentioned that we were thinking about starting to meet again, and as we’ve gotten a positive response, we’re moving forward with the idea. Starting in June, we will meet every other month through fall and then reevaluate things. We will meet outside for the safest gathering possible, and we ask that only vaccinated people attend. We won’t be sharing snacks (although you can still bring your own snacks if you want) and we certainly won’t be sharing flutes, but hopefully we can all enjoy some time sharing music again in a safe environment.

Our June meeting will be on Saturday the 5th at 2PM. We’ll be at the home of Melissa and Tony Griffin, 7001 Orchard Knoll Dr in Apex. They lead the Raleigh Drum Circle, so I’m sure we’ll be doing something involving percussion. If you’re planning to attend, please RSVP via email, private message, or via the Facebook event so that we will know how many people are coming and can set up the space accordingly.

As we’re getting back into a routine, I’m planning to feature a flutemaker and recording artist as we always have. Then we’ll do some facilitated playing activities. As always, if you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too.

Feel free to get in touch if you have any feedback regarding the flute circle. I look forward to seeing you on the 5th.

Thanks!
Jon
