Our March meeting will be Saturday the 26th at 2PM. This time, we’ll be at the home of Barbara Pedersen, 28 Oakwood Drive in Chapel Hill.
This month, we will be featuring the flutes and music of Richard Fool Bull, the last of the traditional Sioux flutemakers. As always, we’ll also make lots of music. If you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too. If you’d like to bring a snack to share, feel free to do so.
This summer is a flute event not to be missed: The World Flute Society Convention in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. It’s a 5 day event with more music, workshops, and flutes than you can imagine. Performers include Peter Phippen, Michael Graham Allen, Kevin Locke, Ron Korb, and many more. Yes, it’s one heck of a road trip, but it’s totally worth it. You can get more info at http://worldflutes.org, and I’ll be glad to answer any questions I can.
As always, feel free to get in touch if you have any feedback regarding the flute circle. I look forward to seeing you on the 26th at Barbara’s house.
