March 2020 Meeting

Flute Friends,

Our March meeting will be this Saturday the 7th at 2PM. This month, Ken Moore and Barbara Pedersen will be hosting our meeting at the Paul Green Cabin on the grounds of the North Carolina Botanical Garden. The Botanical Garden (ncbg.unc.edu) is easily located at 100 Old Mason Farm Road in Chapel Hill. It will be easy to spot since it is across the street from the Chapel Hill Ronald McDonald House. There is ample free parking. The map of the grounds of the Botanical Garden will show the location of the Paul Green Cabin at location F in the upper right hand corner. Ken will set out yellow surveyor flags from the parking area to help everyone find their way to the Cabin. Ample seating is available on wooden benches along the cabin walls. You may want to bring a cushion to soften the hard, flat wooden surface. If you need further directions, Ken’s number is 919-423-4735.

This month, we’ll be featuring the flutes and music of Raymond Redfeather. Then we’ll do some facilitated playing activities. As always, if you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too.

In order to make life a little easier for all of us, I went ahead and scheduled out all meetings for 2020. Here’s the schedule for the rest of the year. Note that we still need hosts for most months:

April 4: Mara
May 2: Host needed
June 6: Host needed
July 11: Ed & Dawn
August 1: Host needed
September 12: Host needed
October 3: Mara
November 7: Tony & Melissa
December 5: Annual Holiday Shindig at Jon’s house

As always, feel free to get in touch if you have any feedback regarding the flute circle. I look forward to seeing you on the 7th.
