February 2013 Meeting Recap

Thanks to everyone who braved the winter weather and joined us at the flute circle today, and special thanks to Barbara for hosting the meeting in her home.

Today, we talked a bit about Michael Graham Allen and his contributions to the development and popularization of the modern flute. We looked at a lot of examples of his flutes, and we listened to some samples of his music from the following CD’s:

Michael is currently making a variety of both Native American style flutes and rim-blown flutes that have been highly decorated with textures, paint, and woodburning. His flutes range in price from $180 to $420. For more information or to purchase his flutes or music, visit coyoteoldman.com.
