February 2013 Meeting

Our February meeting will be Saturday, the 16th, at 2PM. This time, we’ll be at the home of Barbara Pedersen. For the educational topic, maker, and recording artist, I’m going for the trifecta. Since he may be the only person on the planet worthy of fitting into all three categories, we’ll look at the body of work of Michael Graham Allen, better known as Coyote Oldman. He has made some major contributions in terms of the development and resurgence of the flutes we love so much. He’s an amazing craftsman and musician as well, and I’m grateful to count him as my good friend and mentor. If you have a Coyote Oldman flute, please bring it with you. Also, if you’d like to bring a snack to share, feel free to do so. If you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too.
