September 2014 Meeting

Our September meeting will be Saturday the 6th at 2PM. This time, we’ll be at the home of Josh Kleinstreuer (actually at his parents’ house), 1212 Castlemoor Ct. in Raleigh.

This month, we’ll be featuring the music of Randy Granger (his latest CD was just released a few weeks ago) and the flutes of David Nighteagle. As always, we’ll also make lots of music. If you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too. If you’d like to bring a snack to share, feel free to do so.

Coming up in November, Native Rhythms Festival will be taking place once again in Melbourne, FL. It’s been an amazing festival the last few years, with outstanding performances and a great workshop schedule. This year, they’re adding a 2-day flute school before the festival. You can find the information on the festival at http://nativerhythmsfestival.com/, and details about the flute school are available at http://www.nativerhythmsfestival.com/FluteSchool.htm. If you can make the trip, this is definitely one of the best flute events around.

If you’re interested in hosting one of our monthly meetings in your home, please shoot me a message and I’ll put you on my list. And as always, feel free to get in touch if you have any feedback regarding the flute circle. I look forward to seeing you on the 6th.
