Flute Friends,
Our April meeting will be Saturday the 13th at 2PM. This time, we’ll be at the home of Eric Ginsburg, 215 Boulder Bluff Trail in Chapel Hill. We’ll be taking a look at how to play along with a guitar. There will be a short discussion, and then everyone will have the opportunity to play while being accompanied by a guitar player.
This month, we’ll feature the music of Randy Granger. Randy is a talented singer-songwriter, featuring Native American style flutes, guitar, percussion, hand pans, and vocals in his music. Then we’ll check out the flutes of Leonard McGann. And of course, we’ll make lots of music. If you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too. If you’d like to bring a snack to share, feel free to do so.
Coming up in a few weeks is Musical Echoes, April 19-21 in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This year, performers include Kevin Locke, Mark Holland & Autumn’s Child, Painted Raven, Coyote Oldman, Jonny Lipford, and more. For more information, visit http://musicalechoes.org.
As always, feel free to get in touch if you have any feedback regarding the flute circle. I look forward to seeing you on the 13th at Eric’s house.
