April 2019 Meeting

Flute Friends,

Our March meeting will be this Saturday the 6th at 2PM. This time, we’ll be at Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve, 2616 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary. We will be meeting in the covered pavilion. There are wood benches there, but if you’d like something more comfortable, please bring a folding chair. Toward the end of the session, those who are interested can walk into the bluff, so you may want to wear appropriate footwear for a nature trail.

This month, we’ll be featuring the flutes of Brad Young and the new album from Scott August. Then Mara will be leading us in an activity to celebrate Spring with poetry and flutes. As always, if you have a song to share, whether it’s a traditional tune, an improv piece, or a jam with you and a few friends, we look forward to hearing it. If you just want to hang out and listen, that’s cool too. If you’d like to bring a snack to share, feel free to do so.

In order to make life a little easier for all of us, I went ahead and scheduled out all meetings for 2019. Here’s the schedule:

May 4
June 2 (Sunday)
July 13
August 3
September 7
October 5
November 2
December 7

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to host this year. We still need a host for September 7. I know several of you said that you’d check your schedules and let me know. If you’d like to sign up to host one of those remaining spots, just let me know.

As always, feel free to get in touch if you have any feedback regarding the flute circle. I look forward to seeing you on the 6th.
