December 2021 Gathering

As you’re getting ready for Thanksgiving, I wanted to pass along the details for our upcoming December gathering. On Saturday the 4th at 2PM, I’m hosting our 9th Annual Epic Holiday Musical Shindig. We’ll fire up the PA system, break out more instruments than you can count, and create lots of bodacious grooves and tasty jams. No discussion topics. Just music. And door prizes. And plenty of food, because it wouldn’t be a proper holiday shindig without food. My family will provide an assortment of snacks and finger foods as well as coffee and tea. Please bring a treat to share if you’re able.

As the format for this meeting will be largely an open mic setup, please bring some instruments and have something in mind that you’d like to play. There are plenty of us who play percussion, strings, or other instruments, so if you’d like some accompaniment, just ask.

If you’d like to contribute something for the door prizes, that would be awesome. In the past, we’ve had enough items that everyone got to take something home, but my own stash of giveaways has dwindled significantly over the last couple years, especially since festivals haven’t been happening. Old CDs you don’t listen to any more, flute bags, instructional materials, etc. would be great contributions.

This year, we will be meeting in the clubhouse in my neighborhood, 201 Hollymont Dr in Holly Springs. You should be able to find it on Google Maps or your trusty GPS, but if not, please let me know and I’ll be happy to provide you with directions.

If you’re planning to attend, please RSVP via email, private message, or via the Facebook event so that we will know how many people are coming and can set up the space accordingly. As with our other recent meetings, in order to be as safe as possible, we’re asking that only vaccinated people attend. I look forward to seeing you there.
